Meals

Many seniors living living on their own might be unable or unwilling to shop-for and cook nutritious meals for themselves – and might be at risk of malnutrition.

The good news is that there are numerous, affordable options to deliver high quality meals.  Many of these are familiar and obvious, some not so obvious:

  1. Grocery stores – increasingly, delivery is a service that’s provided in almost every market – standing grocery orders can even be set – seems like a great idea!
  2. Community services – churches, other social services
  3. Kitchens of local care homes – contact the local care home (who is likely cash-strapped) – they may be very interested in providing you with a subscription-package of meals (that are already being prepared)
